Fond memories of a sibling would have to involve my older brother John. From the time that we were old enough to play, we have always competed in sports-mostly basketball and football. Whether on organized teams or pick-up games in the back yard, on the same team or opposing each other, we were usually hard at it. This lasted through high school, college, and even afterwards whenever our paths would cross.
I write about this now because, to this day, we are still both involved in sports. We stayed involved through our kids and now our grandkids, We both follow our college teams on radio and TV and replay them during our nightly phone calls.
Our involvement in sports helped us form a strong brotherly bond. We passed that down to our kids and grandkids. Whether watching them or WVU, we are drawn back to our glory days and all the fun we had growing up with friends, cousins, and mostly of all each other.

We lived in a house off of Harper Road, behind our house was a good sledding path. It was a long path and so much fun to go sledding on. We only had one sled, and my younger sister and I were not allowed to ride the sled by ourselves on this steep path. My brother Frankie would let us ride on his back down this hill on the sled. He would lay down on the sled we would hop on his back. We always had to take turns. It seemed like it took forever for THEM to walk back up that hill when it was my turn. When it was my turn, I felt also like it took forever to walk up that hill. But it seemed longer when I was waiting on my turn to go down on the sled.
